El Dorado Academy is a powerfully impacting process for a struggling Teen. It is also a co-educational boarding center designed to help struggling students and their families. It is our Mission to create opportunities and experiences that create new choices for students to realize positive change, to restore respect and instill the values needed to create a new start in the lives of our students. By utilizing the Basic Old Fashioned Principles of Hard Work and positive fun, Individualized and Group Therapy as needed, a highly structured daily schedule, a nationally accredited on line academic program, positive peer mentoring, 24 hour staff supervision, and a time proven advancement program, our students learn to leave behind their former limiting behaviors and create for themselves a new start. We are Also Vocational work based program for students ages 13 - 18 that operates in concert with a working Hotel and Hostel on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The El Dorado Hotel and Hostel see www.eldoradohotel.org gives these students actual on the Job training that works in conjunction with the students Program that works each individual student towards personal success and self reliance. A good Majority of the students that attend are older Teens (typically 15-17 years old) and this work study program is not only necessary but vital in most cases for these students when they graduate there high school and consider their Educational options of college and entering the workforce long term. El Dorado academy main goal though is to get these students pointed towards higher education while giving them practical on the Job experience in an actual Hotel setting as a result El Dorado has online college classes and can even offer a credit in Hotel Hospitality. The El Dorado Hotel operates on shared property with Yegualda Los Pilares a world class Equestrian Center for Andalusian Horses or Spanish Thoroughbreds.
